This powerful landscape image captures Top Lake, Merimbula in one of those brooding, electric moments that only come when a storm is building on the NSW Far South Coast. A towering mass of dark, billowing storm clouds rolls in from the west, filling the upper half of the frame in dramatic shades of deep blue-grey and charcoal — broken in places by glimpses of bright blue sky and a warm golden glow where the light still breaks through from below. It is a sky full of energy, tension and raw natural drama.
Below, the lake surface is extraordinarily still — a long-exposure glassy calm that mirrors the entire scene in perfect, luminous reflection. The storm clouds are doubled in the water below, the blue sky, the rolling hills and the scattered mangrove pneumatophores all reflected with remarkable clarity in a composition of exceptional symmetry and depth. The effect is almost surreal — sky above and sky below, separated only by the dark treeline of the far shore and the gentle hills of the Merimbula hinterland stretching away into the misty distance.
Small white farmhouses are just visible through the trees on the far shore — a quiet human detail that gives the vast natural drama of the scene an intimate, local character. This is the Bega Valley hinterland as seen from the lake edge — green, rolling and beautiful even under a stormy sky.

Please keep in mind the print size options for "Timber Frames" are the size of the print, so the final item will be larger when framed (due to additional matboard and frame).
